In season 2016/17 Viktoria Knuth staged Benjamin Britten's chamber opera THE TURN OF THE SCREW.

Press comments:
"The young director Viktoria Knuth achieved a lot with little means: the atmosphere of the green and blue rural house with foggy windows and doors that move as if by an invisible hand appears oppressingly uncanny, it's a haunted place right from the beginning. The direction of the characters is truthful and convincing."
Dana Herzowa for Der Neue Merker, November 2016

"With the staging of the psychological study "The Turn of the Screw" she made use of the opportunity for making her own artistic decisions in a virtuoso manner and in close collaboration with set and costume designer Kristina Zimmermann. The space, designed by both women, that finds its fulfillment in the people living there, oscillates minimalistically between time-honored imagery and unadorned symbolism."
Ursula Mielke for Thüringer Allgemeine Zeitung, 4.10.2016
